Bradley Cooper joins 'The Place Beyond the Pines'

Bradley Cooper has officially boarded the cast of the crime thriller "The Place Beyond the Pines," opposite Ryan Gosling.
According to Variety, Gosling's "Blue Valentine" writer-director Derek Cianfrance is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ben Coccio.
Sidney Kimmel, Lynette Howell, Alex Orlovsky and Jamie Patricof are producing.
Howell, Orlovsky and Patricof also produced "Blue Valentine."
The film centers on a professional motorcycle rider (Gosling) who has to turn to crime to support his infant son and ends up crossing paths with a rookie cop (Cooper).
Production is expected to begin July 25 in Schenectady, N.Y.
Cooper is on a hot streak with the success of "Limitless" earlier this year and the current smash "The Hangover: Part II."
