Mandalay is continuing its relationship with author Joe Hill, buying the film rights to Hill's short story "Twittering from the Circus of the Dead."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mandalay picked up the film rights to Hill's novel "Horns" last year.
Hill, whose real name is Joseph Hillstrom King, is the son of author Stephen King.
Chris Borrelli will write the adaptation for "Twittering" with Todd Lincoln, who wrote and directed the upcoming Warner Bros./Dark Castle supernatural thriller "The Apparition," in talks to direct.
Cathy Schulman and Adam Stone will produce through Mandalay.
"Twittering" is written as tweets from a teenage girl and follows her and her family on a cross country road trip that goes tragically wrong. The short story appeared in an anthology of zombie stories titled "The New Dead: A Zombie Anthology."
