Tommy Lee Jones has joined Meryl Streep and Steve Carell in the cast of the Sony comedy "Great Hope Springs."
According to Variety, David Frankel will direct from a Vanessa Taylor script.
Mike Nichols had been a candidate for directing the film but passed.
Frankel directed Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada," which grossed $302.4 million at the worldwide box office.
Guymon Casady of Film 360 and Todd Black of Escape Artists are producing.
The film focuses on a middle-aged couple (Streep and Jones) who, after 30 years of marriage, attend an intense counseling weekend to try and solve the problems that are threatening their marriage. Carell plays the famous relationship guru who attempts to help the couple.
Production begins in August with a fall 2012 release set.
Jones will be seen in Paramount's summer film "Captain America: The First Avenger."
