Jean Reno signs up with 'I, Alex Cross'

French actor Jean Reno has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment's thriller "I, Alex Cross," an origin tale based on the books of James Patterson.
According to Variety, Tyler Perry will play the iconic detective-psychologist Alex Cross.
Rob Cohen is directing from a script by Kerry Williamson and Marc Moss.
Ed Burns ("The Wire") and Matthew Fox ("Lost") have also been cast.
The story finds Cross teaming up with another detective (Burns) to track down a serial killer (Fox).
Reno's role is being kept under wraps.
QED's Bill Block and Paul Hanson are producing along with Patterson, Leopoldo Gout and Steve Bowen.
Production is scheduled to begin in August with a release in late 2012 or early 2013.
Reno was recently in "Armored" and "Couples Retreat."
