Charlie Hunnam heading to 'Pacific Rim'

Charlie Hunnam is in talks to play the male lead in Guillermo del Toro's monster movie "Pacific Rim" for Legendary Pictures.
According to Variety, a September 2011 production start date has been set with a summer 2013 release date in mind.
Del Toro will produce with Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.
Travis Beacham wrote the script.
The film centers on a group of humans that develop robots to fight off an extraterrestrial force that threatens the Earth's existence.
Del Toro had been working on an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness" for Universal, but problems arose over budget and rating.
Hunnam is best known for his role in the FX series "Sons of Anarchy."
