Gosling and Cianfrance reteam for 'Pines'

"Blue Valentine" writer-director Derek Cianfrance and Ryan Gosling, who starred in the film, will collaborate on the crime thriller "The Place Beyond the Pines."
According to Variety, Cianfrance is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ben Coccio.
Sidney Kimmel, Lynette Howell, Alex Orlovsky and Jamie Patricof are producing.
Howell, Orlovsky and Patricof also produced "Blue Valentine."
The film centers on a professional motorcycle rider (Gosling) who has to turn to crime to support his infant son and ends up crossing paths with a rookie cop.
Bradley Cooper has been offered the role of the cop.
Production is expected to begin this summer.
