Anthony Mackie heading to 'World War Z'

Anthony Mackie has been offered a starring role in Paramount's "World War Z" opposite Brad Pitt.
According to Variety, Marc Forster is directing with Pitt producing through his Plan B Entertainment along with David Ellison's Skydance Productions.
J. Michael Straczynski and Matt Carnahan wrote the script based on Max Brooks' novel.
Set 10 years after a global zombie epidemic, the story unfolds as a collection of individual accounts told from several perspectives around the world.
Pitt is playing a United Nations worker and father of two girls. Mireille Enos recently joined the cast as Pitt’s wife.
The movie is scheduled to begin shooting in June in London and Malta.
Mackie, who had his breakout role in the "The Hurt Locker," was last seen in "The Adjustment Bureau."
