Kinnaman boards 'Safe House'

Joel Kinnaman has joined the cast of the Universal thriller "Safe House."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast includes Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Tim McGraw, Liam Cunningham, Brendan Gleeson, Robert Patrick, Sam Shepard, Ruben Blades and Vera Farmiga.
Daniel Espinosa is directing from a script by David Guggenheim. Terry George did a rewrite.
Scott Stuber will produce through his Universal-based Stuber Pictures.
The storyline follows the only surviving agent of an attack on a CIA safe house (Reynolds) as he tries to get a dangerous prisoner (Washington) to a second safe house before being taken out by the attackers that want them both dead.
Shooting is underway in South Africa with a Feb. 10, 2012, release date set.
Kinnaman can be seen on AMC's new hit show "The Killing" and will be seen in Summit's upcoming alien invasion thriller "The Darkest Hour."
