Jeremy Renner could be 'Bourne' again
By Adnan Tezer Apr 22, 2011, 21:26 GMT
Jeremy Renner has been offered the lead in the fourth installment in Universal's Jason Bourne franchise, "The Bourne Legacy."
According to Variety, Tony Gilroy will write and direct the film.
Gilroy has written the first three films in the "Bourne" franchise.
Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith are producing.
Plot details are being kept under wraps except that the new lead character would not be Jason Bourne but another assassin who went through the same training that Jason Bourne went through.
It is unknown whether Matt Damon will reprise his role of Jason Bourne for any of the new installments.
Gilroy had met with Shia LaBeouf, James McAvoy, Garret Hedlund, Taylor Kitsch, Luke Evans and Joel Edgerton for the role.
Renner can be seen next in Paramount's "Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol," which opens in December.
