Lindsay Lohan joins 'Gotti' film

Lindsay Lohan has officially joined the cast of the independent film "Gotti: Three Generations."
According to Variety, Marc Fiore is producing through his Fiore Films.
John Travolta is set to play John Gotti Sr. Joe Pesci will play Gotti enforcer Angelo Ruggiero while Lohan will play Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr.
Lohan's deal also includes her acting in Fiore Films’ upcoming "Mob Street," based on a screenplay by Chazz Palminteri.
Nick Cassavetes was set to direct but had to leave the project earlier in the week due to scheduling conflicts.
Actor-writer Leo Rossi wrote the screenplay, which will focus on the relationship between John Gotti Sr. and his son John Gotti Jr.
Gotti Sr. was the head of the Gambino crime family and died behind bars in 2002. Gotti Jr. took over the family business for his father and also served time in prison, but was able to evade conviction in four subsequent racketeering trials.
Shooting will take place in New York.
A new director is expected to be hired shortly so that the film can begin production in the fall.
A late 2012 release has been set.
