Craig Gillespie signs on to 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

Craig Gillespie will direct Lionsgate's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mike White was previously hired as director but had to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts.
The book mixes Jane Austen's 1813 classic "Pride and Prejudice" with zombies. The story takes place in an alternate version of 19th-century England where zombies roam the countryside amidst a virus outbreak as Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters look for romance.
Austen is listed as the co-author of the book along with Grahame-Smith.
Natalie Portman is producing through her handsomecharlie films with Annette Savitch, along with Darko Entertainment's Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm.
Gillespie directed "Lars and the Real Girl" and the upcoming "Fright Night" remake.
