Drew Pearce to write 'Iron Man 3'

Marvel Studios has hired British TV writer-producer Drew Pearce to write the script for "Iron Man 3."
According to Variety, Disney has set a release date of May 3, 2013, for the film.
This would follow the Marvel superhero ensemble film "The Avengers," which opens in the summer of 2012.
Shane Black is attached to direct "Iron Man 3," which would reunite him with his 2005 "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" star Robert Downey Jr., reprising his role as billionaire Tony Stark and his superhero alter ego Iron Man.
Jon Favreau announced in December that he would not return to direct the third installment of the highly lucrative franchise.
Pearce's producing and writing credits include the TV shows "No Heroics" and "Lip Service."
