Mila Kunis has joined the cast of Disney's prequel to the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz" called "Oz, the Great and Powerful."
According to Variety, Sam Raimi is directing with Joe Roth producing.
David Lindsay-Abaire ("Rabbit Hole") wrote the latest version of the script.
James Franco will star as a circus performer who is transported through a tornado to the mysterious land of Oz, where he must fight real magic and three witches battling for control of the land.
Kunis will play Theodora, the youngest sister of the three witches, which also include Glinda and Evanora.
Disney is looking at Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams, Kate Beckinsale, Keira Knightley and Rebecca Hall as possibilities for the other two witches.
Shooting is expected to begin later in the year with a 2013 release date in mind.
Kunis is coming off her critically acclaimed performance in "Black Swan."
