Taylor Swift has joined the ensemble voicecast of Universal and Illumination's 3D CGI film "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax," based on the children's classic.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the voicecast includes Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Rob Riggle and Betty White.
The film will focus on a boy searching for a way to win the love of the girl of his dreams. Along the way, he learns of the Lorax, the grumpy yet loving creature who fights to protect the environment.
Chris Renaud will direct from a script by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.
The three also collaborated on Illumination's "Despicable Me."
Illumination founder Chris Meledandri and Janet Healey are producing with Audrey Geisel, Seuss' widow, executive producing.
Universal has set a release date for March 2, 2012, which would have been the 108'th birthday of Dr. Seuss, who died at 87 in 1991.
Swift's previous film experience came in last year's romantic comedy "Valentine's Day."
