Universal has picked up Jeremy Garelick's comedy "The Insane Laws," with Vince Vaughn attached to star.
According to Variety, Universal picked up the project from Sony, which originally bought Garelick's script two years ago.
Garelick will make his feature directorial debut on the film.
Neal Moritz is producing through his Original Films shingle.
The film, which is based on events from Garelick's life, focuses on two male best friends and how their relationship changes when their grown children fall in love.
Vaughn and Garelick worked together in Universal's 2006 comedy "The Break-Up," with Garelick co-writing the script with Jay Lavender.
Vaughn was recently in the Ron Howard comedy "The Dilemma."
