Liam Neeson's Unknown tops US box office

Los Angeles - The thriller Unknown starring Liam Neeson opened at the top of the North American box office over the weekend, studio estimates showed Sunday.
The film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra features Neeson as a man who awakens from a coma in Berlin only to find his identity has been stolen. It brought in 21.8 million dollars.
Futuristic alien adventure I Am Number Four had to settled for second place, earning 19.5 million dollars.
Animated feature Gnomeo and Juliet brought in 19.4 million dollars with its comic retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with garden gnomes.
Two comedies rounded out the top five. Just Go with It starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston earned 18.2 million dollars, and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son earned 17 million dollars.
