Annette Bening has signed on to star opposite Morgan Freeman in Rob Reiner's drama "The Third Act."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Voltage Pictures' Nicolas Chartier will produce.
Guy Thomas wrote the script, which focuses on a once famous writer (Freeman) trying to rediscover his talent in a small rural town. In the process, he helps a young girl embrace her imagination and her mother (Bening) find love.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in May.
This will be Bening's first role since her Oscar-nominated turn in "The Kids Are All Right."
Freeman was last seen in "Red."
Bening and Freeman have worked with Reiner before, with Bening having appeared in Reiner's "The American President" and Freeman having worked on Reiner's "The Bucket List."
