Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in Warner Bros.' remake of "Logan's Run."
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is also in talks with Nicolas Winding Refn to direct.
Gosling and Refn collaborated on the upcoming action film "Drive."
Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Akiva Goldsman are producing the "Logan's Run" remake, which would be an updated adaptation of the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson that was made into a 1976 cult classic film.
The 1976 original, released by MGM and directed by Michael Anderson, starred Michael York as a man trying to outrun police who kill everyone who reaches the age of 30 in order to control overpopulation. Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett co-starred in the film.
Gosling would play the Michael York character.
The remake has been in development at Warner Bros. for over a decade with Bryan Singer, Skip Woods, Robert Schwenke, Joseph Kosinski, James McTeigue and Carl Rinsch having been attached at various points as possible directors.
Gosling can be currently seen in "Blue Valentine" and will be in George Clooney's "The Ides of March."
