Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to star in Oliver Stone's adaptation of Don Winslow's novel "Savages."
According to Variety, Winslow wrote the screenplay with Shane Salerno, who will executive produce.
Stone is producing with Moritz Borman.
The film follows two marijuana growers and dealers from Laguna Beach who share a girlfriend (Lawrence). The girlfriend is kidnapped and held for ransom when the two friends resist being pushed out of the business by a Mexican drug cartel.
The two male leads have not been cast.
Shooting will begin in June.
Lawrence's Oscar-nominated performance in "Winter's Bone" has put her on Hollywood's hot list. She'll be in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming "X-Men: First Class."
