By Adnan Tezer Feb 10, 2011, 20:20 GMT
Meryl Streep is in final negotiations to star in the comedy "Great Hope Springs."
According to Variety, David Frankel will direct from a Vanessa Taylor script.
Mike Nichols had been a candidate for directing the film but passed.
Frankel directed Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada," which grossed $302.4 million at the worldwide box office.
Guymon Casady and Todd Black will produce through Casady's Film 360.
The film focuses on a middle-aged couple who, after 30 years of marriage, attend an intense counseling weekend to try and solve the problems that are threatening their marriage.
Production will begin in August with no release date set.
Frankel recently wrapped Fox 2000's "The Big Year."
Streep will be seen as Margaret Thatcher in the upcoming "The Iron Lady."
