Julia Roberts set to play evil Queen in 'Snow White' film

Julia Roberts has closed a deal to star as the evil Queen in Relativity Media's untitled Snow White feature.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tarsem Singh is directing the big-screen adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, with shooting set to begin in April.
Melissa Wallack and Jason Keller wrote the script.
The modern day retelling of Snow White finds the vengeful heroine joining forces with a gang of seven dwarves after her evil stepmother kills her father.
Ryan Kavanaugh, Bernie Goldmann and Brett Ratner are producing.
Relativity has set a release date of June 29, 2012, six months before Universal opens their Snow White feature "Snow White and the Huntsman."
Roberts most recently starred in "Eat Pray Love."
She stars opposite Tom Hanks in the upcoming Universal drama "Larry Crowne."
