By Adnan Tezer Feb 4, 2011, 20:42 GMT
Jason Segel will star in the DreamWorks comedy "Undercover Cop."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Micallef ("Butter") will write the screenplay and Steven Zaillian will produce through his Film Rites production shingle.
Film Rites' Garrett Basch will executive produce.
No director has been set yet.
Inspired by a true story, Segel will star as an '80s-era undercover cop that infiltrated the New Jersey criminal underworld.
Segel is wrapping production on Disney's "The Muppets," which he co-wrote. He'll be in the upcoming Sony comedy "Bad Teacher," opposite Cameron Diaz.
His other film credits include "I Love You, Man" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."
