Feb 4, 2011, 0:40 GMT
Los Angeles - Rock legend Mick Jagger is to perform at next week's Grammy Awards ceremony for the first time in his illustrious career, organizers said Thursday.
The Rolling Stones frontman will hit the Grammy stage as part of a tribute to soul great Solomon Burke and will perform with singer Raphael Sadiq, show producer Ken Ehrlich said. The 53rd annual Grammys are scheduled for February 13.
'We're thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward to Mick doing his debut on the Grammy stage,' said Neil Portnow, president and chief executive of the Recording Academy. 'It's extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage.'
In addition to Jagger, the Grammy Awards will feature performances by Rihanna, Cee Lo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Usher, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum and Justin Bieber.
