By Adnan Tezer Jan 28, 2011, 20:43 GMT
Benjamin Walker has booked the title role of Abraham Lincoln in 20th Century Fox's "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
According to Variety, Walker won out over several actors who had tested over the last few weeks including Adrien Brody, Josh Lucas, James D'Arcy and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the novel and will also adapt the script.
Timur Bekmambetov ("Wanted") will direct and co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.
The story revolves around Lincoln fighting vampires during the Civil War.
The film, which will be shot in 3D in March, is scheduled for a June 22, 2012 release.
Walker has appeared in the films "Flags of our Fathers" and "Kinsey."
He recently starred as another former U.S. president, Andrew Jackson, on- and off-Broadway in "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson."
