Screen Actors Guild President Ken Howard has joined the cast of Warner Bros.' J. Edgar Hoover biopic "J. Edgar."
According to Variety, Clint Eastwood is directing from a script written by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black ("Milk").
The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio as Hoover alongside Ed Westwick, Damon Herriman, Armie Hammer and Josh Lucas.
Howard will play U.S. attorney General Harlan F. Stone.
Hoover was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924 and later was the head of the FBI when it was founded 11 years later.
Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are producing through Imagine Entertainment along with Eastwood and Rob Lorenz through their Warner-based Malpaso production shingle.
Shooting is expected to begin in February.
Howard took office as SAG president in September 2009, after winning an Emmy for his role in HBO's "Grey Gardens." He recently guest starred in the premiere episode of USA Network's "Fairly Legal" and will appear in two episodes of NBC's "30 Rock."
