By Adnan Tezer Jan 20, 2011, 20:39 GMT
Mike White has exited as director of Lionsgate's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.
According to Variety, White left due to scheduling conflicts after signing on in November of last year.
The book mixes Jane Austen's 1813 classic "Pride and Prejudice" with zombies. The story takes place in an alternate version of 19th-century England where zombies roam the countryside amidst a virus outbreak as Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters look for romance.
Austen is listed as the co-author of the book along with Grahame-Smith.
Darko Entertainment is producing along with Lionsgate.
White directed the 2007 dark comedy "Year of the Dog" from his own script. He also wrote "School of Rock" and "Orange County."
