Russell to get his 'Guns'

David O. Russell is in advanced talks to direct and rewrite "2 Guns," Universal's adaptation of a Boom! Studios comic book.
According to Variety, Vince Vaughn is attached to star in the film that will focus on an undercover DEA agent and naval intelligence officer who, without realizing it, are investigating each other for stealing money from the mob. They later realize that the mob actually tricked them into stealing $50 million from the CIA.
The original comic was written by Steven Grant with art by Mat Santolouco.
Marc Platt is producing along with Andrew Cosby and Ross Ritchie from Boom!Studios.
Blake Masters wrote a previous draft.
Russell's "The Fighter," with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, is generating serious Oscar buzz.
