Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast of the DreamWorks drama "Welcome to People."
According to Variety, the cast includes Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Olivia Wilde.
The film will mark the directorial debut of "Star Trek" and "Transformers" co-screenwriter Alex Kurtzman.
Kurtzman wrote the screenplay with his writing partner Roberto Orci and Jody Lambert.
Kurtzman and Orci are producing through their Paper Products company, along with Bobby Cohen.
The story follows a man (Pine) who must deliver $150,000 in cash to an alcoholic sister (Banks) he didn't know he had until the death of their father. He also becomes involved in the life of her angry 12-year-old son.
Pfeiffer will play the mother of Pine and Banks' character.
Production is scheduled to begin in L.A. this month.
Pfeiffer was last seen in "Cheri" and recently joined the cast of New Line's ensemble comedy "New Year's Eve."
