Rapper Eminem is in talks to return to the big screen in 20th Century Fox's crime thriller "Random Acts of Violence."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer-director David Von Ancken (Showtime's "Californication"), is in talks to direct.
The project has been going through the motions at Fox for over four years with the script having undergone multiple drafts.
The current version is said to focus on an ex-con (Eminem) just released from prison who is trying to stay on the straight and narrow despite being tempted by his former crime associates. At the same time, the FBI tries to recruit him to become an informer and take down his friends.
Eminem's sole film credit was his debut in 2002's commercial and critical success "8 Mile."
His last album, "Recovery," was 2010's top-selling album.
