Brad Pitt signs up for a 'Trade'
By Adnan Tezer Jan 3, 2011, 20:20 GMT
Brad Pitt has signed on to star in the mob heist comedy "Cogan's Trade."
According to Variety, Pitt had been in talks for the project since early November.
Andrew Dominick is directing from his own script.
Dominick wrote and directed 2007's "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" that starred Pitt.
"Trade" centers on Jackie Cogan (Pitt), a mob enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a mob-protected poker game.
Pitt is producing with Dede Gardner through their Plan B, along with Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz from Chockstone. Inferno's Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel will executive produce along with Marc Butan.
Shooting will begin in March in Louisiana.
Pitt will be seen opposite Sean Penn in Terrence Malick's upcoming "The Tree of Life," and Bennett Miller's "Moneyball."
