Country singer Tim McGraw is in talks to join Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in Universal's action thriller "Safe House."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Espinosa is directing from a David Guggenheim script.
Scott Stuber will produce through his Universal-based Stuber Pictures.
The storyline follows the only surviving agent of an attack on a CIA safe house (Reynolds) as he tries to get a dangerous prisoner (Washington) to a second safe house before being taken out by the attackers that want them both dead.
McGraw will play the CIA mentor to Reynolds' character.
McGraw can be seen in Shana Feste's "Country Strong," opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Garrett Hedlund.
He has appeared in the film version of "Friday Night Lights" and was Sandra Bullock's husband in "The Blind Side."
