Sarah Jessica Parker has joined the cast of New Line's ensemble romantic comedy "New Year's Eve."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be a spinoff of Garry Marshall's "Valentine's Day."
Marshall will return to direct, along with producers Mike Karz and Wayne Rice, and screenwriter Katherine Fugate.
The film will be set in New York and follow the intertwining romantic stories of several characters on New Year's Eve.
The cast includes Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin.
Last week, Sofia Vergara and Jessica Biel entered into talks to join the cast. Halle Berry and Zac Efron are also in talks to board the film.
Biel and Kutcher were in "Valentine's Day," but those characters won't be part of "New Year's Eve."
New Line will release the film on December 9, 2011.
Parker was recently in New Line's "Sex and the City 2."
