Catherine Hardwicke going through a 'Maze'

Catherine Hardwicke is in talks to direct "The Maze Runner" for 20th Century Fox.
According to Variety, the film will be an adaptation of James Dashner's young adult sci-fi novel of the same name.
The book was published in October 2009 and is part of a trilogy.
The story revolves around a teenager who wakes up in a different universe, which is populated by boys that arrive every 30 days. The community is thrown into chaos when a girl arrives.
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein is producing with Lindsay Williams.
No screenwriter has been hired yet.
Hardwicke's credits include "Twilight," "Lords of Dogtown" and "Thirteen."
Her next film is Warner Bros.' "Red Riding Hood," which opens in March.
