Sony moves 'Bad Teacher' date
By Adnan Tezer Nov 19, 2010, 20:10 GMT
Sony has pushed back the Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" from its originally scheduled April release date to June 17.
According to Variety, this comes on the heels of a positive screening for Sony executives last week, which prompted them to move the film to a potentially more lucrative summer opening.
Jake Kasdan directed from a script by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Jimmy Miller and David Householter produced through their Mosaic production company.
The cast includes Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Lucy Punch, John Michael Higgins and Jason Segel.
Story centers on a foul-mouthed, greedy middle-school teacher (Diaz) who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, competes with a rival teacher (Punch), who is dating the school's model teacher (Timberlake).
In its new release date, "Bad Teacher" will go head to head with Warner Bros.' tentpole "Green Lantern."
