The Swedish directing team of Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein will direct Screen Gems and Lakeshore's fourth installment of the vampires versus werewolves series "Underworld."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Beckinsale will reprise her role as vampire warrior Selene.
Production will begin in Vancouver in March.
Screen Gems has set a January 20, 2012, release date.
Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing with Len Wiseman.
John Hlavin wrote the script with revisions by J. Michael Straczynski. No plot details have been released yet.
Marlind and Stein made their English-language debut film with the 2010 U.K. supernatural thriller "Shelter," starring Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, that has yet to be released in the U.S.
The three "Underworld" films, released in 2003, 2006 and 2009, have grossed $300 million worldwide.
