Luis Guzmán joins 'Mysterious Island' cast

Luis Guzmán has joined the cast of New Line's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," the 3D sequel to "Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad Peyton is directing with Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilm producing along with Charlotte Huggins.
The cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Hudgens and Michael Caine.
The film follows explorer Sean Anderson as he brings his mother to a mythical island to find his missing grandfather.
Hutcherson will again portray explorer Sean Anderson while Johnson will play the boyfriend of Anderson's mother. Caine will play the missing grandfather. Hudgens plays a girl from the island who gets involved in the adventure while Guzmán will play her father.
The movie is currently shooting in Hawaii, with a September 23, 2011, release date set.
Guzmán recently wrapped Warner Bros.'s remake of the Dudley Moore comedy "Arthur," opposite Russell Brand.
