Batman 'Rises' Again
By Adnan Tezer Oct 28, 2010, 20:37 GMT
Warner Bros. and director Christopher Nolan have chosen the title "The Dark Knight Rises" for the highly anticipated third Batman film.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. announced a July 20, 2012, release date earlier this year for the film, which will not be shot in 3D.
Shooting is expected to begin in the spring. David Goyer has been working with Nolan's brother, Jonathan, on a script for the film, based on an idea from Christopher Nolan.
Christian Bale is expected to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Christopher Nolan and Goyer reinvented the Batman franchise in 2005, co-writing "Batman Begins," which went on to earn $352 million worldwide. The 2008 follow-up "The Dark Knight" was co-written by the Nolans with Goyer developing the story. The film earned $1 billion worldwide.
