Banderas to go 'Solo'

Antonio Banderas will direct the psychological sci-fi thriller "Solo."
According to Variety, the $14 million film will begin shooting next year for a release in 2012.
Erik Jendresen wrote the screenplay.
The film, which will contain science fiction elements, focuses on a Spanish colonel suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Banderas will play the colonel and use Spanish actors for the rest of the cast. The film will shoot in English.
Banderas is producing through his Green Moon company.
This will be Banderas' third film as a director. His other directing credits include 1999's "Crazy in Alabama" and 2006's "Summer Rain."
He was recently seen in Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger."
