Neil Patrick Harris will make his feature directing debut with the independent romantic comedy "Aaron and Sarah."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson attached to star.
The script was written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey (ABC's "Pushing Daisies").
Sandy Stern is producing for Single Cell Pictures along with Beau Bauman and Jesse Israel.
The story follows a dorky guy and a popular girl who become friends during their freshmen year in high school, and see their relationship grow through four years, four proms and one funeral.
Harris recently directed an episode of his CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." He will next star in CBS Films' "Beastly" in March and Columbia's "The Smurfs" in August.
Roberts can be currently seen in "It's Kind of a Funny Story." Her recent credits include "Valentine's Day" and "Twelve."
Hutcherson most recently starred in the highly acclaimed comedy "The Kids Are All Right." He will be seen in the MGM remake of "Red Dawn" coming out next year.
