Luke Evans and Alice Eve are in talks to star opposite John Cusack in the Edgar Allan Poe-focused thriller "The Raven."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, James McTeigue is directing.
Evans will play a detective who teams with Poe (Cusack) in 1849 Baltimore to hunt a serial killer who has kidnapped the author's fiancée (Eve) and has gone on a murder spree that mimics the author's work.
Travor Macy and Marc Evans of Intrepid Pictures and Aaron Ryder of FilmNation are producing.
The project begins shooting October 25 in Budapest and Serbia.
Eve was recently seen in "She's Out of My League," and recently wrapped the comedy "The Decoy Bride."
Evans can be seen in "Tamara Drewe," opposite Gemma Arterton. He is currently shooting "The Three Musketeers," an adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
