Rhys Ifans to battle Spider-Man

Sony has cast Rhys Ifans as the main villain in their untitled "Spider-Man" reboot.
According to Variety, Ifans joins a cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy.
The plot is being kept under wraps but it is known that the story will focus on Peter Parker/Spider-Man as a teenager.
Marc Webb is directing with James Vanderbilt writing the script.
Production begins in December and will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012.
Avi Arad, Todd Black, Grant Curtis and Laura Ziskin are producing.
Ifans can be seen next in Warner Bros.' upcoming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" being released November 19.
