Despite all his magical might, Harry Potter won’t be thrilling audiences in 3D when “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” arrives on the big screen November 19th.
Warner Bros. Pictures has issued a statement that Part 1 of the final Harry Potter adventure will arrive in the 2D format for both its conventional and IMAX releases due to the film’s 3D conversion process not being completed in its entirety and to the highest standards of quality in time for the release.
In the press release, producer David Heyman stated: “For 10 years, we have worked alongside Alan Horn and the studio, whose priority has always been to preserve the integrity of Jo Rowling’s books as we have adapted them to the screen, and this decision reflects that commitment.”
Director David Yates added in the Warner Bros. statement: “This decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first.”
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” is still scheduled to be released in both 2D and 3D formats and is on track for its July 15, 2011, arrival at the big screen, according to the release.
