Alan Alda has booked a role in Universal’s comedy "Wanderlust."
According to Variety, he joins a cast that includes Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Justin Theroux and Malin Akerman.
David Wain is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ken Marino.
The story follows a married couple (Aniston, Rudd) who try to escape modern New York society by joining a commune.
Alda will play the commune leader.
Judd Apatow is producing through his Apatow Productions with Wain, Marino and Rudd.
Alda last appeared in "Flash of Genius" and Rod Lurie’s "Nothing but the Truth."
He had a guest role last year on NBC's "30 Rock."
