'Social Network' makes friends with weekend box office

Sony's Facebook origins film "The Social Network" debuted at the No. 1 spot at the box office over the weekend with $23 million.
According to Variety, David Fincher directed from an Aaron Sorkin script based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires."
Warner's 3D cartoon "Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole" placed No. 2 with $10.9 million for a domestic cumulative of $30 million.
Fox's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" came in at No. 3 with $10.1 million for a domestic cumulative of $35.9 million.
Warner's "The Town" placed No. 4 with $10 million for a domestic cumulative of $64.3 million.
Sony's "Easy A" finished No. 5 with $7 million for a domestic cumulative of $42.4 million.
