Kevin Kline and Diane Keaton will star in Lawrence Kasdan's independent drama-comedy "Darling Companion."
According to Variety, Kasdan is directing from a script he co-wrote with wife Meg.
Richard Jenkins and Elisabeth Moss have also been cast.
The film will be produced by Anthony Bregman for Likely Story, Elizabeth Redleaf for Werc Werk Works and Lawrence Kasdan.
The film focuses on a woman (Keaton) who loves her dog more than her distant husband (Kline). The husband then loses the dog after a wedding at their vacation home in the Rockies. A search for the dog ensues.
Shooting is set to begin in Utah later this month.
The film is the third in a trilogy that includes Kasdan's 1983 classic "The Big Chill" and his 1991 drama "Grand Canyon," which he also co-wrote with Meg.
Kline most recently starred in "The Extra Man" and will next be seen in "The Conspirator."
Keaton will next star in Paramount's upcoming "Morning Glory."
Kasdan most recently co-wrote and directed "Dreamcatcher," in 2003. He also co-wrote and directed "Wyatt Earp," "The Accidental Tourist" and "Silverado."
