Shooting back on for 'Darkest Hour'
By Adnan Tezer Sep 16, 2010, 19:47 GMT
New Regency and Summit Entertainment’s 3D sci-fi thriller "The Darkest Hour" has resumed shooting in Moscow, six weeks after Russia's wildfire emergency shut down production on the film.
According to Variety, the companies said that the delay won't affect the film’s release date of August 5, 2011. Fox will distribute the film.
Production began on July 18, but was suspended after three weeks due to the wild fires in Central Russia, which made filming in Moscow impossible.
Chris Gorak is directing from a screenplay by Jon Spaihts, based on a script by Leslie Bohem and M.T. Ahern. Tom Jacobson and Timur Bekmambetov are producing.
The cast includes Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor and Joel Kinnaman.
The film focuses on five people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive after an alien attack.
