Rapace to dual with 'Sherlock Holmes 2'

Swedish actress Noomi Rapace has booked the female lead opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Warner Bros.' "Sherlock Holmes 2."
According to Variety, this will be the first English-speaking role for Rapace, who played Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film versions of Stieg Larsson's "Millennium Trilogy;" "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest."
Guy Ritchie is returning as director with Dan Lin, Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Lionel Wigram producing.
Kieran and Michele Mulroney wrote the screenplay with plot details being kept tightly under wraps.
Jude Law and Rachel McAdams are expected to reprise their roles from the original with Daniel Day-Lewis rumored to be playing the villainous Professor Moriarty.
"Sherlock Holmes" opened last Christmas Day and grossed $523 million worldwide.
A December 16, 2011, release date has been set for the sequel.
