Slater hits the 'Playback' button

Christian Slater has joined the cast of the independent horror film "Playback."
According to Variety, the cast includes Johnny Pacar, Toby Hemingway, Jonathan Keltz, Alessandra Torresani, Ambyr Childers, and Daryl "Chill" Mitchell.
Michael A. Nickles ("Just Peck") is directing from his own script.
John M. Bennett and Lawrence Robbins are producing through their Bennett Robbins Productions.
The story focuses on a group of high school students who dig into their town's past and unintentionally unleash an evil upon their classmates.
Slater will star as a cop who plays a crucial role in exposing the town's secret.
Shooting is underway in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
