McConaughey and Hirsch love a 'Killer' story

Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch will star in the dark comedy "Killer Joe," with William Friedkin directing.
According to Variety, the film will be adapted by Tracy Letts from his play.
Shooting will begin November 8 in New Orleans.
Scott Einbinder of ANA Media and Voltage Pictures' Nicolas Chartier are producing.
The story centers on a drug dealer, portrayed by Hirsch, who has his drug stash stolen by his mother and must come up with $6,000. He turns to the titular "Killer Joe," played by McConaughey, to off his mother when he finds out that her life insurance policy is worth $50,000.
Friedkin's directing credits include "The French Connection," "The Exorcist," "To Live And Die In LA," "Rules of Engagement" and "Jade."
McConaughey stars in the upcoming "The Lincoln Lawyer" for Lakeshore Entertainment.
Hirsch is currently shooting "The Darkest Hour" for Summit Entertainment.
