John McTiernan taking 'Shrapnel'
By Adnan Tezer Sep 10, 2010, 20:20 GMT
John McTiernan has signed on to direct the action thriller "Shrapnel."
According to Variety, Belgian production company Corsan CEO Paul Breuls and FilmEngine CEO Anthony Rhulen will produce.
Evan Daugherty wrote the script, which focuses on two war veterans who hunt each other.
No casting has been announced yet.
It is unclear what impact McTiernan's current legal problems will have on the project.
He faces sentencing on Oct. 4 after pleading guilty in July to making false statements to law enforcement officials when he was questioned during their investigation of Hollywood private detective Anthony Pellicano.
McTiernan’s credits include "Die Hard" and "The Hunt for Red October." His last film was 2003’s "Basic."
